‘Under Cover’ suggests ways to appropriate dehumanised spaces. Open Spaces, waiting rooms, office hallways, are a few examples of public places where we settle temporarily.
Standardardized and universalized, these areas are often lacking comfort and intimacy. This project started from a working experience where Olga Flór was constraint to sterile, cold and anonymous spaces. She made two drawings materialising her need of color, envelop and escape. These spontaneous compositions became the base for two textile collections. The pieces are inspired by our tendencies to constantly transform our surroundings, through accumulating mess, covering walls or even hiding ourselves behind things. These pockets, wearables, and tapestries instantly extend our furniture, walls and bodies, establishing a closer relationship to our environment.
